Practice Fee's

Read Street Medical & Skin Centre is a private billing practice. All fees are payable at the time of consultation. Fees can be paid by cash, EFTPOS and credit card (Visa and Mastercard). If you hold a current health care card, a reduced fee maybe offered.

Where confirmation of the claim number cannot be supplied at the time of consultation, consultation charges for work cover or those covered by insurance will need to be paid by the patient. For claims which have been confirmed as accepted along with a claim number, consultation charges will be invoiced directly.

All Non Government vaccinations and consumable items will have fee’s applied as appropriate.
Non aged pensioner health care card holders will be offered a reduced billing fee. Please contact reception for details.

Bulk billing for aged pension, veteran affairs and children under 16

We offer bulk billing services to aged pension card holders 65 years and older, Veteran Affairs patients & children under 16 years old, with a valid Medicare card.  However, the first 2 standard consults for the year will be privately billed for aged pensioners and one standard consult will be privately billed for children under 16 for the year. Following that, all other consults will be bulk billed for the year until the next new year cycle. Veteran Affairs patients will continue to be bulk billed for all consults.

Bulk billing telephone consultation (For existing patients only)

Our practice is open and taking both face to face and telephone consultations. You can book online for a Telehealth appointment or contact us to book a face to face consultation.

Anyone above 50 years old and is of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent
Anyone of any age under treatment for Chronic Health conditions or is Immune-Compromised
Pregnant Women
A parent of a child under 12 months
Anyone diagnosed with COVID-19 who is not a patient of a hospital
Anyone who is required to be quarantine by the authorities pending COVID-19 test results
Anyone who is required to self isolate for 14 days after arriving back from Oversea
Anyone above the age of 70 year

Express Appointment

We understand some patients would like an express appointment for simple repeat of script, medical certificate, blood pressure check, referrals, influenza or other booster doses of vaccines. We endeavour to schedule these appointments on the same day (subject to the doctor’s availability) or within 1 working day.
